THE ICONIC BUILDINGS OF PARIS - #4 EIFFEL TOWER


No matter where you are in Paris, there is one beacon that is almost always visible and ready to guide you to your destination.

It was originally built as part of the Universal Exhibition of 1889 and was the world's tallest building until the Empire State Building overtook it in 1931!

It is 320 metres tall, but on a hot day it can expand to reach 15 cm higher!

It weighs 10,100 tonnes and is repainted every four years which adds 40 tonnes to its weight.
