NOTRE-DAME-DE-LORETTE

The beautiful Church of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette is built in a neoclassical style. It faces south although it was originally designed to face Montmartre to the north. The view from the very large steel studded front door is straight down the busy Rue Lafitte. The red and gold colour scheme of the interior provides a richness and warmth. The church was completed in 1836 and has the distinction of being the venue for the baptism of composer, Georges Bizet and the painter, Claude Monet.
