BROWN SNAKE-EAGLE

The Brown Snake-eagle is a fairly common resident of Southern Africa, but quite rare in the Eastern Cape.

Its unfeathered legs are one of its distinguishing characteristics.

As its name suggests, its main prey consists of snakes, occasionally lizards, geckos, rats and small ground birds.
