The AFRICAN FISH EAGLE is found throughout the African continent wherever there is a body of water.
We live close to a river which hosts a number of breeding pairs of this magnificent eagle. Hardly a day goes by without us hearing the eagle's plaintive cries as it soars above.
The photo on the right was taken in the Kruger National Park next to a popular dam.
The Fish Eagle's diet is not confined to fish - it also catches rodents, the young of other water birds and even carrion.
