When I saw this inspired use of an old garden fork in Limeuil - a well-known Afrikaans saying came to mind:

"  'n Boer maak 'n plan "  

Was this evidence that a large number of South African farmers had inherited their ingenuity from their French ancestors, the Huguenots, who fled to South Africa in the late 17th century?

Or are all farmers, masters of innovation and ingenuity?
