The art of making cheese can be traced back to prehistoric times and in France the art has been perfected to the highest degree! The number of different cheeses is astounding with each region having its own set of favourites. It has been estimated that France produces more than 400 different varieties of cheese.
But it all starts with a cow or a goat or a ewe. These contented bovine cheese makers were photographed near the Dordogne just outside Tremolat.
