Earlier this week while taking my morning walk along the shore, I noticed a bird that I'd never seen before. I took a few photos from quite a distance and on reaching home paged through my bird books only to find that the Caspian Tern is quite a common visitor along the African shoreline.
The phrase "as free as a bird" comes to mind when I consider how freely birds travel all over the world
- no passports required, no obligatory wearing of masks, no quarantine on arrival, no fear of infection
- wonderful!
