LE PONT-VIEUX (ALBI)

The Pont-Vieux (the old bridge) over the Tarn River was built between 1035 and 1040 and is one of the oldest bridges in France which is still in daily use! It was originally built with stone, but has subsequently been covered with brick work. It is hard to believe that the bridge has been in daily use for almost one thousand years!
These photographs were taken from the grounds of the cathedral.
