LAVARDIN - A TOWN OF MANY TALES
The town of Lavardin on the banks of the Loir exudes mystery, secrecy and echoes of the part its inhabitants have played in the history of central France.
It is now a small town with about 250 residents, but one imagines that the town was much more important in days gone by.
A medieval church, an elaborate dilapidated chateau and a well used battle scarred stone bridge across the Loir, confirm that if the stones of the town could talk, they would keep us enthralled with their tales of the events that they have witnessed.
This book by William Glover (who lives in Lavardin) recounts some of the tales of this remarkable small town!
