The postern (side entrance) to this beautifully restored 16th century chateau prompts one's imagination to contemplate how visitors' carriages may have been received through the years. Guards would undoubtedly have checked the visitors' credentials while the tired horses panted impatiently on these cobbles. A meeting with the squire may have awaited the visitors and one presumes a meal and possibly accommodation for a night or two in rooms overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens.
