I have recently watched the movie, "My Old Lady" starring Maggie Smith, Kevin Kline and Kristin Scott Thomas which was filmed mainly in the Marais. Many of the buildings in that part of Paris are obscured behind high walls and accessed only through tall doors (les portes cocheres) like the one shown above. Intrigue and adventure await those (like the Kevin Kline character in the movie) who venture through doors like these ...
