PALAIS DU LUXEMBOURG

The beautiful Palais du Luxembourg situated in the Jardin du Luxembourg was built in 1631 for Marie de Medici, the widow of Henri IV. The architects chose a style that would remind her of Florence, the city from whence she had come.

It is now the home of the French Senate.
