CHATEAU DE BEYNAC
The imposing 15th century Chateau de Beynac overlooks the communes of Beynac and Cazenac and the Dordogne River which was the border between the English south and the French north during the Hundred Years' War.
The steep narrow streets through the village give the only access to the chateau and while climbing one has ample opportunity to examine the details of the architecture of the old stone houses and their unique roofs.
They don't build places like that these days.
