Our early morning routine commences with coffee on the deck overlooking the garden. This morning, we were not alone ... we remained under the watchful gaze of this pair of Green Pigeons (Treron calva) who appeared to have spent the night roosting in the coral tree.
We live at the southernmost limit of these pigeons' usual habitat. They tend to prefer the more tropical areas to the north in Mpumalanga, kwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo.
