Wallace fountains are found throughout Paris providing potable water for thirsty pedestrians.
The original 50 fountains were donated to Paris by Sir Richard Wallace after the Franco-Prussian War.
The number of fountains has subsequently doubled to more than 100.
The four female figures (caryatids) supporting the ornate cupola represent Kindness, Simplicity, Charity and Sobriety!
