TRAVELLING IN FRANCE ... #1: ADVICE

Travelling through the French countryside gives one an authentic experience of French life away from the cities. However, negotiating the narrow country roads and small village streets, can be challenging - important survival tactics to be mastered are:
1. Obey the speed limits (usually 30 km/h)
2. Understand the difference between big arrows and small arrows (big means traffic going in that direction enjoys priority, small means you don't!)
3. Remember that tractors with trailers and other heavy vehicles have priority regardless of the arrow size!
4. Learn to apologize in French for those occasions when you forget the above.
