LES INVALIDES

This is an unusual view of Les Invalides as it features a different perspective of the landmark gold-plated cupola. Louis XIV commissioned the building of this hospital in 1670 to accommodate the loyal officers who had served their King and country in many campaigns, but were, in their old age, "crippled, elderly or frail".
