FROM PARIS DUMP TO PARIS PARK

I always enjoy the challenge set by the monthly themes of the City Daily Photo bloggers and the theme for 1 December 2016 was particularly intriguing. How does one portray "Transitions"?  I thought of transitions in the weather (e.g. from clear to stormy), transitions in the day (e.g. from dark to sunrise), in the seasons of the year (e.g. from winter to spring).

Finally I decided upon the transitions in city spaces ... for example, the changes brought about in Paris by Baron Haussmann in the 1860s, and this project in particular:
The transformation of a rubbish dump in a disused quarry (which had for a time also been the site of the gallows of Paris!) into a magnificent park, Le Parc des Buttes Chaumont, with a lake, waterfalls, bridges, beautiful trees and lawns and even a small clifftop temple. Certainly a place to visit when next in Paris.
