FONTAINE DE INNOCENTS

The Fountain of the Innocents was carefully restored and moved to its current position near Les Halles in the 18th Century.  It was originally erected on the Rue St Denis in 1549 after being designed by the sculptor, Jean Goujon.  Its name derives from its having been a popular meeting place for the youth of Paris.
