BEAUMONT-DU-PERIGORD
The bastide town of Beaumont-du-Perigord was established in 1272 by Edward I of England.
At the centre of the town one finds the 13th century Church of Saint-Front.
As we strolled through the narrow streets, English seemed to be the dominant language being spoken. The number of English "settlers" in the area has led to some people referring to the area as the "Dordogneshire"!
