HOTEL DES INVALIDES

A special service was held yesterday in the courtyard of the Musee de l'Armee (pictured below) to remember the 130 people killed in the attacks carried out in Paris on 13 November. It was fitting that the service should have been held in this venue which has hitherto been reserved for those killed in military action because as President Hollande has indicated, France is at war and the innocent people killed are victims of that war.

The Dome Church with its beautiful gilded cupolah overlooks the courtyard. The church was built during the reign of King Louis XIV and was designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansard.
