NIL SINE NOBIS
"Nil sine nobis" - "Nothing without us" announces the sun dial on the wall of the Musee de Cluny in Paris. I have tried to ascertain the context in which this inscription could have been written in 1674 - it seems to be an affirmation of democratic principles ... no decisions to be made without consulting those affected by the decisions! Good idea!
