SEVRES PORTICO

In the Parc Félix-Desruelles in the Boulevard Saint-Germain one finds a magnificent ceramic portico stuck to the side of a building.  It was originally part of the facade of the Sèvres factory during the 1900 Exposition Universelle.

It is the work of the sculptor, Jules Coutan and the architect Charles Risler.  It is amazingly lifelike as shown by these young boys admiring, we assume, a vase produced in the factory.
