BOULEVARD ST-MICHEL

On Tuesdays, I try to post a picture which captures the atmosphere of the busy Paris streets and today we travel to what Parisians call le Boul'Mich.  The boulevard takes one in a straight line from the Place St-Michel to the gates of the Luxembourg Gardens.

Boulevard St-Michel was cut through the 5th and 6th arrondissements in 1869 and has since become famous for its bookshops (librairies) and literary cafes.

The Metro in the foreground, St-Michel is one of the elaborately decorated Art Nouveau stations.
