14 July - le quatorze juillet - the French National Day commemorating the storming of the Bastille in 1789, an event seen as the beginning of the French Revolution. The day is marked by a military parade down the Champs Elysee, a fly-past and massive fireworks display!
Our celebration in East London (South Africa), organised by the local Alliance Francaise, will be more modest, but just as enjoyable ... photos will be posted tomorrow!
