LATE AFTERNOON REGAL VISITOR

It was time for our afternoon tea and suddenly we spotted this magnificent Crowned Eagle sitting at the very top of a fir tree across the valley.  He was obviously scanning the bush for a rock rabbit (dassie) that he could have for dinner.

The dassie would have little defence if attacked by what Africans refer to as "the leopard of the sky".
