At the end of the day three Bronze Mannikins stop off at the fountain for a sip of water before joining the rest of the flock at their roost. These minute seed-eating birds spend their nights huddled together in loosely constructed ball-shaped communal nests that house up to 20 birds. With winter temperatures dipping below 10 degrees Celsius, keeping warm is a priority.
