CATHEDRALE STE-CECILE, ALBI

This collage of photographs taken during a visit to Albi is an ideal choice for a "Floral Friday" blogpost. The red brick Cathedrale of Saint Cecile looks more like a fortress than a church and it stands proudly above the other buildings of the town. It has been described as a battleship sailing through troubled waters when viewed from afar and when one considers that its establishment in 1265 came at the end of the Albigensian crusade, those were indeed troublesome times!
The gardens surrounding the cathedral were magnificent in late March.
