This Hout Bay harbour seal in a contemplative mood does not have to endure any hardship - unlike his industrious cousins in the water behind him, he does not have to toil to find his food. He is fed by his "handler" to entertain the tourists once they have made a small "donation".
I guess there are parallels in society, but as it is the Day of Goodwill in South Africa, I won't explore these any further ...
