Sincere condolences are extended to those affected by the cowardly attack on the innocent people of Nice and visitors to their city.
One's initial impulse is to be angry at those who perpetrate or encourage such acts and simultaneously, frustrated and powerless in preventing further attacks. However, by consciously striving to address the root causes that give rise to, or perpetuate, polarization and the eventual radicalization that too often results, progress toward more peaceful co-existence will occur.
