AGEING ...

On the first day of each month bloggers throughout the world post a picture illustrating a predetermined theme.  The theme for 1 March 2015 is "Ageing" and I have selected this photograph of an old dilapidated sundial set in the south-facing wall of the barn at Les Chouettes in Tremolat.  The date carved in the sandstone is 1882 and the hours of the day are barely visible, while the slot which once housed the metal rod whose shadow indicated the time, is now empty.

The sundial which for decades measured the ageing of all around that barn is now itself beyond ageing.
