SARLAT-LA-CANEDA

The medieval town of Sarlat's recorded past begins in the 9th century with the establishment of a Benedictine abbey.  Over time it grew in importance becoming a very important market town.

It is classified as a "Town of Art and History" as well as a "Plus Beaux Detour" confirming that it should not be missed when travelling in the Dordogne area.
