JE PARLE FRANCAIS, ET VOUS?

I have always been fascinated by the cats one encounters in France.  They seem to have a special accusatory look, reserved for foreign visitors. I presume it is because we sound different - we do not speak the French they have come to understand.  French dogs are more accommodating, less judgemental and better hosts - no disdainful glares, just a friendly wag that I interpret as "Bienvenue en France, mon ami!"
