A SNAKE CAME TO MY WATER-TROUGH

"A snake came to my water trough
On a hot, hot day, and I in pyjamas for the heat,
  To drink there."

So begins D.H. Lawrence's poem, "Snake" and although I wasn't in pyjamas despite the 30+ degree heat on Friday last week, the water trough (bird bath) was visited by this thirsty Western Natal Green Snake.

These snakes are not venomous and prey on lizards, geckos and chameleons.
