The early morning quiet is often disturbed by his loud call of "Pheeeoo" and of course, his bright yellow is not designed to make him blend into his woodland surroundings!
I have the notion that forest birds have evolved with loud calls and bright colours so that they can find each other in their shady, leafy habitat - Nature can be so clever.
