VISITING RAPTORS

 Last week was marked by the visits of three different raptors to our garden.

It started with a visit by an immature African Harrier Hawk (a.k.a. a Gymnogene), shown on the left.  He featured in last Tuesday's blogpost.

This was followed by the juvenile Crowned Eagle shown below - a magnificent bird standing 50 cm tall and known as the "leopard of the skies".  I think his demeanour shows how he earned that title.

Not to be outdone the Little Sparrowhawk (above right) appeared over the past weekend and again this morning.
