A QUESTION OF BALANCE

This Olive Thrush (turdus olivaceus) sat for a long time alternating between watching me and dozing, but remaining resolutely balanced on one leg. I wondered if he possibly had only one leg, but just before flying off, his second leg appeared.

What was he thinking about - was the disturbance of "the balance of Nature" the dominant thought being pondered so assiduously?  The effects of global warming, the use of pesticides, the destruction of his natural environment (riverine forests) by urban development, plastic pollution ... so much to worry about!
