A MONUMENT IN A GARDEN
This monument stands starkly outlined against the sky - it depicts two men leading or controlling a recalcitrant horse.
It commemorates the South African soldiers of the 1st Infantry Brigade who died after being ordered to hold the line against the German army at Delville Wood in July 1916.
Of the 3 200 who entered the wood, fewer than 800 emerged on 14 July.
