SANCTUARY

This is the 58th MONOCHROME MONDAY post of the AUTRES DIRECTIONS blog and with the current turmoil in France and in Paris particularly, I thought that a visit to a quiet village in the Dordogne countryside might be a good idea .

The sanctuary of the Eglise Saint-Jean Baptiste de Campagne is the ideal place to look for peace and tranquility. The worn stones of the altar steps show that thousands before have sought refuge in this church that was built in the 12th century.

While in the church I noticed this swallow using the convenient access of a broken window to build its nest in the church.

Swallows obviously know where they are safe!
