PARIS IN BLACK & WHITE ... #1 ICE CREAM IN MONTMARTRE

This Monday I start a new series entitled, "Paris in Black & White" in which I intend featuring street scenes in a style influenced by the great monochrome photographers of the last century, of whom Henri Cartier-Bresson (HCB) was probably the most famous.

I had no intention of photographing this young girl enjoying an ice cream with her Paris guide under her arm - my focus was on the Sacre Coeur skyline at the end of a busy street!  Her intrusion into the picture creates an attractive juxtaposition!
