While walking through the deserted narrow streets of the hilltop town of Limeuil, we became aware of a tortoise shell cat that seemed to be following us. Was he just checking to see that we did not get up to any mischief? Or was he lonely, considering that most inhabitants migrate to warmer climes in winter?
