The most recognizable church in Paris is undoubtedly the Cathedrale de Notre-Dame which stands proudly on the Ile de la Cite! The foundation stone was laid in 1163 by Pope Alexander III and the construction was completed 170 years later.
According to Paris Tourism, Notre Dame is the most visited tourist attraction in the whole of France with 13,6 million visitors per annum!
