A Paris market is an institution that reflects decades of tradition between the hard-working producers, merchants and their loyal clientele, many of whom are greeted, not like customers, but more like friends. The range of items on sale is unbelievable from fresh fruit and vegetables to meat and fish as well as charcuterie and a variety of breads straight from the oven! Household items, clothing and even toys are seen on display.
The photograph above was taken at the Bastille market in the Boulevard Richard Lenoir where transactions are conducted under the watchful eye of the Genie de la Liberte on top of the Colonne de Juillet!
