RUE MOUFFETARD MARKET
The Rue Mouffetard is a narrow thoroughfare at the best of times, but on market days it is even more so.
The stalls spread out across the pavements and into the street.
One can imagine that this has been the case for hundreds of years as this street was in Roman times, part of the main route from Rome to Lutetia (the Roman name for the settlement that eventually became Paris).
I am sure that at that time traders also placed their wares on display in the street to attract weary travellers!
Like most Paris markets ... there are musicians ...
