NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED!

The interior of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Cecilia (a.k.a. the Albi Cathedral) is breathtakingly beautiful. The building of this cathedral began in 1282 and continued for more than two hundred years. Shown here is the altar and a fresco of "The Last Judgement" painted by unknown Flemish artists. The original painting covered an area of 200 square metres, but a centre section has subsequently been removed.
I imagine that many congregants would have been horrified by the prospect of being confronted by, I assume, St Peter who would decide their eternal fate - Heaven or Hell!  Not a vision for the faint-hearted!
