I took this photo in the small town of Lalinde. These patient companions were waiting outside the butchery hoping that soon they would be rewarded with a tidbit ... a sausage or a bone.
Dogs in France have a very special relationship with their human companions. Charles de Gaulle, the former French President, described a possible reason for this relationship when he stated:
"The better I get to know men, the more I find myself loving dogs."
