Cruises on the Seine and the canals of Paris are very popular and a relaxed and convenient way of seeing the city and its environs. The most extensive is the all-day cruise on the Canal de l'Ourcq from the departure point at the Bassin de la Villette (shown above) to the Porte de l'Arsenal with a stop for lunch in the village of Claye-Souilly. The distance covered is 108 km and the trip takes 8 and a half hours.
