SAINTE-CHAPELLE
No visitor to Sainte-Chapelle can escape being overwhelmed by the magnificent colours of the stained glass windows, the brilliant scenes depicted on the golden walls and windows as well as the intricate mosaic patterns of the floor.
People sit in awe as they study the window panels which illustrate more than 1000 scenes from the Bible.
The chapel was built in the 13th century by St Louis (King Louis IX) to house his collection of religious relics which included a piece of the cross on which Christ was crucified.
