ATTENTION TO DETAIL

When on the road from Cazals to Cahors, one passes through the tiny commune of Goujounac. One could easily miss this 12th century church, but it is certainly worth stopping and examining this historic building whose stones tell us its stories of collapse, war damage, neglect, revival, repair and renovation. A closer look at the inscription on the damaged keystone reveals the date 1690 ... a relatively recent addition when one considers that the church has been there for 900 years!
