PLACE DU TERTRE

The Place du Tertre is the highest point in the city of Paris - a mere 130 metres above sea level! It is hard to believe that this cheerful and colourful square was once the site of the abbey gallows.

Artists have been painting and displaying their work in the square since the 19th century. Some of the restaurants surrounding the square have also been there for more than 200 years.
